The National Elevator Industry, Inc. (NEII
) applauds its members and the International Union of Elevator Constructors (IUEC) for their ongoing commitment to safety. Today, elevator workers and employers across the country came together to show their commitment to safe work practices in the first ever "Stand Up for Safety" event. During this event, all employees paused their work to hear important safety messages from their company presidents as well as the National President of the IUEC.
"By participating in today's Stand Up for Safety events, elevator companies and the IUEC united to remind all industry employees of the collective commitment to maintain safe work environments," said Karen Penafiel, Executive Director of NEII
. "Together we are working toward a safer future in the elevator industry. Today's Stand Up for Safety event is a reminder that our industry's top priority is getting everyone home safely at the end of each day."
